Checking and Installing

• After RPM is built, it is a good idea to check it before installation:

  • Show header: rpm -qip package.i386.rpm
  • List files: rpm -qlvp package.i386.rpm

• Check file list to be sure all files have the correct permissions, etc.

• Finally, install the package:

  • rpm -ivh package.i386.rpm
