The SPEC file

• The SPEC file contains the following sections:

  • The preamble - headers to describe package attributes
  • %prep section - shell script to prepare software
  • %build section - shell script to build software
  • %install section - shell script to install software
  • %files section - list of files contained in package

• May contain other sections, but the above are the bare minimum
