• To which package does existing file /bar/foo belong?

  • Type "rpm -qf /bar/foo" to find out.
  • Example: rpm -qf /sbin/modprobe modules-2.3.9-30

• What files are packaged in foo-1.2-3.i386.rpm which is not (yet) installed?

  • Type "rpm -qpl foo-1.2-3.i386.rpm | more" to get your answer!
