RPM installation problems

Occasionally, an installation attempt will fail.
Often the failure is related to unsatisfied dependencies.
The software depends on another uninstalled package - it cannot work without it.
Example: rpm -i mod_php-3.0.15-46.i386.rpm error: failed dependencies: pdflib is needed by mod_php-3.0.15-46 mysqllib is needed by mod_php-3.0.15-46 openldap is needed by mod_php-3.0.15-46 imap is needed by mod_php-3.0.15-46 libc-client.so is needed by mod_php-3.0.15-46 libpdf.so is needed by mod_php-3.0.15-46
