• 99 volume groups (VG) per machine

• 255 Physical volumes (PV) per VG

• 99(VG) x 255(PV) = 25245 total PV's managable using lvm

• LV's have a maximum size of 255.99GB with a 4mb extent size (PE)

• 65534 maximum Physical Extents (pe) per PV = ~262 Gigabytes per Physical volume. (using 4mb PE) PE size can range from 4 to 8, but 4 is avg.

• LVM can manage ~66 terabytes out of the box.
